SGE is the batch job queueing system used with the "socrates" compute cluster. Because SGE has numerous features and options, it can be complex to use. However, it's reasonably easy to run simple jobs under SGE by creating an executable "script file" that contains the commands necessary to run your program, and then submitting this script to the SGE system using the qsub command.
