Sparky Development Status

April 2, 2004

Sparky is maintained by the Computer Graphics Lab. Maintenance includes answering email, fixing bugs, and updating Sparky so it works with new versions of operating systems. We are not adding new features, although we are keeping a list of new feature requests to guide future development.

In 2001 our lab decided not to continue developing NMR software. So we did not request funding for Sparky. We are unlikely to request funding for Sparky in the future. If you are interested in doing Sparky code development contact us (sparky@cgl.ucsf.edu). Ernest Laue with the Collaborative Computing Project for NMR (CCPN) has considered taking over Sparky development. Also John Markley with the NMR Facility at Madison (NMRFAM) has expressed interest. But neither group has picked up Sparky development.
