It should probably only log it when the user releases the mouse to avoid logging dozens of commands as the drag proceeds.  Also when the user turns off clipping in side view it should log a command.

It took me hours to debug #3292 which required clip planes to reproduce, but there was no mention of clipping in the bug report log output.
