  - Talked about labrador retriever guide dog program.
  - ChimeraX 1.7 release - flatpak needs ffmpeg built.
  - Working on URLdefense email filter.
  - Working on ChimeraX license administration web page.

* NIAID contract statement of work
  - Next Thursday group meeting will be to discuss next NIAID statement of work.

* Christmas card
  - Could use cardiac myosin thick filament image from Nature paper last week.  Might remake image to avoid copyright issues.
  - Could use an image from our ChimeraX paper this year, insulin dimer.

* R01 renewal
  - Submission of R01 renewal is due May or June 2025, 1 year before expiration of current 4 year grant.
  - Should look at instead applying for the new RM1 grant which emphasizes service and technology while R01 emphasizes research.
  - Tom Ferrin thinks the RM1 may not be available to labs that have had a P41 for 15 years.

* Endowed chair
  - Michelle Arkins planned to talk to her advisory board about our ChimeraX licenses funding an endowed chair.
  - Kathy Giacomini should be included in future discussions.


* New Mac computers for Elaine and Tom
  - New Mac computer ordered for Elaine and Tom will need serial number sent to David Ing to exempt them from UCSF IT management.
  - Machines should not be powered on until exempted.
  - Then Scooter will apply for an IT exemption for software development use.

* Wynton
  - Scooter is working on setting up backup system.
  - Not sure if funding for backups could be cut due to budget shortfalls.

* Selina machine learning project
  - Internship ends at end of December.
  - Cannot renew paid internship because of 1000 hour limit in one year.
  - Selina can retain her Wynton PHI account as a collaborator.
  - UCSF account will be automatically deactivated when she is no longer an intern.
  - Plan is to write paper on her medical imaging machine learning developments when the work is complete.
  - Selina will be first author.
  - Paper will cover similar material to her last group meeting presentation on the work, but with more complete results.
