Agenda
- Jason Gestwicki lab presenting web app for analyzing post-translational modifications
- Endowed viz position search
- Setup of server GPU nodes
Discussion Notes
- Chaperone equilibria
- Jason described 180 human chaperone proteins, their function, and competition for forming many complexes.
- Saugat Pokhrel, postdoc, showed web app he made to compute abundance of complexes at equilibrium from affinities and abundances of component proteins.
- Two central proteins are HSP70 and HSP90 (each has variants).
- CCTPR proteins recognize 5-mer or 10-mer C-terminal on HSP70/90 for binding.
- Saugat's web app works with 31 CCTPR proteins
- They have experimental affinity data for about 80% of those.
- Scooter advised separating backend computation in a REST web service and trying to use existing tools for front-end visualization.
