Description

Good morning ChimeraX-team

I have a bug report for ChimeraX-1.12 - on Debian-13 with a legacy graphics card using the nouveau driver, the flatpak version of 1.12 crashes on startup (brief appearance of the ChimeraX window followed by a segmentation fault).

The problem seems to be related the use of the nouveau driver with the legacy Nvidia GTX650 graphics card (so not likely to manifest on many systems). The solution is to use the Ubuntu 24.04 Linux x86-64 version instead.

Problem: ChimeraX-1.12 (FLATPAK version) crashes on startup with the error message "WARNING: GBM is not supported with the current configuration. Fallback to Vulkan rendering in Chromium."
